Description

This will enable us to purchase seeds on a continual basis so we can plant in succession, making it possible to have a continuous supply of harvests.    We have some fall crops planted (kale, mustard greens, kohlrabi, spinach and lettuces) that should be available mid September.

Things we need to purchase are peat moss, soil amendments and seeds that will enable to set up more beds with fast growing crops like salad fixings, stir fry veggies and crops that will get everything through the winter.

There is no risk to you.  If we have a crop failure or if you are not able to pick up your shares then we will extend your subscription.    We understand circumstances happen!  You won’t lose a week’s subscription payment if you aren’t able to pick up your share.

Start Date:
As soon as the September crops are ready!

Available Shares:

We are limiting the start up phase of our homestead to 10 customers because we are still in the learning stages of homesteading.  As our skills increase, we will open our homestead to more people.

Price: $80
$20 per week, if paid at least 4 weeks in advance.  Please note that adding 1 in the quantity will pay for 4 pickup weeks if you are picking up one day per week, or 8 pick ups if you want to get fresh produce twice per week.

Pick Up Times:
Mondays and Thursdays pick up.  We will work around your time schedule.  You get fresh produce twice per week instead of everything all at once.  You can also pick up fresh herbs any time of the week.

How Much Will Be In My Share?:

You can expect at least 6 items in your basket on Monday and another 6 or more items on Thursdays.  We count herbs as one item even if you have several types of herbs in your basket.   Some weeks will be more abundant than others, depending on the season.

Example: August shares included beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, Italian basil, lemon basil, thyme, oregano, sage, onions, peppers, chard, kale and later we were able to add cantaloupe.

As we grow in experience and as our garden beds mature and more nutrients can be added, our shares will also increase with a wider variety.  We are still setting up the growing beds and by October, our winter garden beds should be ready and that will enable us to grow a steady supply of salad fixings.
